This endocrine gland regulates the speed at which everything happens.  It strives to keep the pace of the body in to balance from the daily demands.  Your thyroid plays a major role in determining the body’s temperature, the way we digest, metabolize and assimilate food.

THYROID<-->SKIN: When your thyroid is under functioning it can affect your overall vitality, causing poor digestion and dull skin because it plays an essential role to the body’s ability to make quality connective tissue, hair, skin, and nails; as well as affecting one’s mood. 

FOODS AND HERBS TO IMPLEMENT

Boost thyroid function:

  • Kelp (digitata)

  • Ashwagandha

  • Iodine: Iodized salt, Seafood, Seaweed

  • Red seaweed (selenium): Duse, Nori, Irish moss

  • Brazil nuts (selenium)

  • Vitamin B complex

  • Magnesium

    • Blackstrap molasses

    • Nuts

    • Beans

    • Dark leafy greens

    • cacao

FOODS AND HERBS TO IMPLEMENT

Inhibit thyroid function:

    • The trio blend (not recommended if have persistent liver concerns)

      • Lemon balm

      • Motherwort

      • Bugleweed

    • Soy (contains goitrogen, which contains compounds that inhibit thyroid function
